Call for papers: Dossier – The Venezuelans between migration and exile. Trends and strategies.

After more than a century as a country of immigration, over the last decade Venezuela has become a country of emigration. The destruction of the country's economic, political and social system led to the departure of several million Venezuelans who sought refuge in neighboring countries, but also in countries such as the USA, Spain, or Portugal. This mixed migratory flow is currently the main migratory movement in South America and has contributed to a change in the migration policies of several countries and has challenged their capacity to welcome and integrate migrants and refugees. Among the sectors affected, we highlight, of course, the safeguarding of Human Rights; health in times of pandemic; education, welcoming a school-age population and the need to integrate these children and young people into local systems; the labor market, in a time of precariousness and economic destabilization, but also specific areas such as mental health; public policies; gender policies. In order to build an integrated system of reference articles in the analysis of this migratory flow, we look for articles of analysis, empirical or otherwise, that allow an understanding of its dynamics, trends, and strategies.
