The area of concentration entitled "History, Research and teaching-learning experiences" aims to qualify History teaching professionals from Middle School and High School, from the development of skills and capabilities to build reflections on History teaching, citizenship, professionalization and social responsibility, to the improvement of historical cognition. Likewise, they should reflect on research in History teaching as a way of valuing teaching and student knowledge about substantive ideas (such as democracy, revolution, etc.) and/or about the nature of History (such as explanation, evidence, significance, temporality, historical awareness). The goal is to continue the formation of the historian-teacher, as well as to develop research aimed at analyzing the teaching of History as a cultural, social and political apparatus, capable of interfering in the formation of memory and collective identities. Here, we propose the expansion and updating of expertise in History, the acquisition of new knowledge and contact with methodologies in the fields of History teaching, the transposition of knowledge from the History subject to school contexts, as well as the reflexive and critical analysis of situations and experiences of teaching-learning of historical knowledge. This area is supported by the research carried out by professors who make up the Master's degree in Professional History modality, who are responsible for the creation of research groups and laboratories, in order to meet the demands of the professionalization of the historian-teacher.
